What is Sarcoidosis?
Sarcoidosis is an inflammatory condition in which tiny clusters of immune cells, called granulomas, form in the body's organs. It most often affects the lungs and lymph nodes, but it can also involve the skin, eyes, heart and other organs.
Symptoms can include a persistent cough, shortness of breath, fatigue and chest discomfort, and they vary greatly from person to person. The cause is not yet fully understood, which is why awareness, early diagnosis and research matter so much.

Sarcoidosis occurs in all ethnic groups but is generally more common and often more severe among people of Black African and Black Caribbean heritage compared with other populations. This pattern has been observed internationally and is recognised within UK clinical practice
